Centering Prayer
Cathedral of St. John
February 13, 2010

The Cathedral of St. John will be hosting a preLenten introduction to Centering Prayer on February 13. Centering Prayer is a method of prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of God’s presence and emphasizes prayer as a personal relationship with God. It is also a discipline to foster and serve this relationship by a regular, daily practice of prayer. The introduction will be presented by Susan Rush, the coordinator of Contemplative Outreach in New Mexico. She has been involved with Centering Prayer for two decades and works closely with Fr. Thomas Keating. This session will include instruction in the method of Centering Prayer, its historical background, and the practice of Centering Prayer. There will be a small donation for the workshop, which will also include six subsequent sessions of Centering Prayer instruction and practice. For further information, please contact Susan Bryan (281-7542) or sign up in the Gallery.

Led by the Reverend Canon Terence Lee, this study will begin on February 18 at 10:30 am in the Library. Bruce M. Metzger’s book, Breaking the Code, Understanding the Book of Revelation will be used as a resource in this study. There are copies available for $10.00.
