Youth Ministries
The Journey Program focuses on the practical and spiritual transformations from childhood to young adulthood. At each level, the youth are encouraged to regularly participate in study and fellowship. Each level includes challenges and opportunities including an “urban adventure” and a spiritual pilgrimage. Other activities include local service projects, social happenings, pastoral care and diocesan events. Currently the Sunday morning levels meet UPSTAIRS in the Annex this pattern:
- 6-7th graders: New Rite 13 Annex Youth Center Green
- 8-9th graders: New J2A Annex Youth Center Pumpkin
- 10th+ :BASE: Confirmation/Reaffirmation Annex Youth Center Purple
If you haven't been playing along with us, your teen is always welcome to begin. However the BASE class is the only path towards confirmation for Sr Hi teens who are 16 or older. We suggest that you make BASE a priority for any 16+ teen, and let them choose whether or not to be confirmed before the Bishop visits in the spring. All youth classes need strong attendance and expect 60% attendance at classes and fund raisers to lead to participation in the Urban Adventure (J2A) and/or Mission Trip (all youth eligible) next summer.
